How are storylines different from regular AI roleplay?
Roleplay is usually one scene you drive in the moment. A storyline is an ongoing, authored arc that progresses over days and weeks — it opens, builds, resolves, and threads into the next. It's AI roleplay with storylines layered on top, so the story has direction instead of resetting every session.
Will the story remember what already happened?
Yes. Storylines run on Afterhours' persistent long-term memory, the same one behind your text, voice, and photos. The arc builds on your past choices, inside jokes, and details, so callbacks land and you never have to re-explain where things left off. It's all one shared relationship context.
Is it private, and is this for adults?
Afterhours is an 18+ app, and your storylines stay yours — they play out inside your relationship with your companion, including on their private social wall. The tone can be mature and emotionally intimate while staying tasteful. And to be clear: your companion is AI software, not a real person or a therapist, and Afterhours isn't crisis or medical support.
Do storylines cost anything?
You can start free on iOS and Android, and storylines unfold as you talk. Some surfaces they thread through — voice calls and video — need a paid PRO or ULTRA plan, but the story itself begins the moment you do.
